IDX Suspects BUMI’s Stock Movement

PT Bumi Resources TBK (BUMI)’s stock movement in the past three days which recorded significant increase and then plummeted caused the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) puts the stock into Unusual Market Activity (UMA). Investors should be careful in transacting BUMI’s stock, watching the performance of listed company and its information disclosure.

Zakky Ghufron, IDX’s Transaction Supervisory Head, said that IDX is watching the development of BUMI’s stock transaction pattern. The bourse asked investors to pay attention to BUMI’s reply to bourse’s confirmation request. In addition, investors are urged to examine its performance and review company’s corporate action plan if the plan has not been approved by the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Stakeholders.

Recent news which becomes positive sentiment for BUMI is extension on the Postponing of the Debt Payment Obligation (PKPU) by the Central Jakarta Business Court for 22 days which was decided on June 9, 2016. In addition, BUMI’s verification of creditor’s bill has been completed as well. On Friday (6/10), BUMI’s stock price rose 34% to Rp 67 per share. BUMIs’ stock advancement continued on Monday (6/13) by 22.39% to Rp 82 per share.

On Tuesday’s trade, BUMI’s stock price once reached its highest level at Rp 90 per share before declining to Rp 76 per share due to profit taking. On Tuesday’s trade closing (6/14), BUMI’s stock changed hands as many as 12,259 times with volume amounting to 1.67 billion shares and transaction value of Rp 135.88 billion. Amid negotiation market, BUMI’s transaction volume reached 17.95 million shares. (*)
