Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) has finished the construction of the Coal Electric Steam Power Plant in P3FP. This will decrease the energy cost rates of ANTM feronickel factories in Pomalaa by 15%-20%.
Tedy Badrujaman, President Director of ANTM, said the Coal Electric Steam Power Plant with a capacity of 2×30 MW is expected to start commercial operation by end of 2016. “Completion of its construction shows that the expansion of feronickel production is on track. P3FP will boost production capacity from 18.000-20.000 TNi to 27.000-30.000 TNi per year,” said Tedy.
The production cost decline, additional feronickel production capacity, and nickel ore sale rise in domestic markets will give good yield and profitability to the company.
The Coal Electric Steam Power Plant built by Sumitomo Corporation with value of US$ 145 million EPC will meet the electricity needs of factories supporting feronickel. The Coal Electric Steam Power Plant in Pomalaa requires around 300.000 tons of low-grade coal each year with calories of 4.200 kcal/kg (GAR).
In the first trading session on Monday (10/10), ANTM fell 0.6% to IDR 795. (*)
