PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT), a state-owned construction company, will sell its 40% stake in its subsidiary PT Waskita Toll Road, which is a toll road business unit. According to the company directors, divestment proceeds will be used to build 15 toll roads currently controlled.
Muhammad Choliq, Director of Waskita Karya, said the company requires equity worth Rp 25 trillion to work on all 15 toll roads with length of 764.79 kilometers whose concessions have been owned.
“The divestment is expected to be realized within the next three months. There are 10 interested investors at present,” said Choliq. He added that Waskita Karya has injected Rp 6.5 trillion worth of equity to Waskita Toll Road, and is targeted to reach Rp 10 trillion by the end of the year.
Toll road concessions already owned by Waskita Karya include a segment Kayuagung-Palembang-Betung (Kapalbetung), Antasari-Depok, Medan- Kualanamu- Tebing Tinggi, Pejagan-Pemalang, Bekasi-Kampung Melayu, Solo-Ngawi, Ngawi Kertosono, and Cinere -Serpong.(*)
