The Repatriation Fund is predicted to reach only IDR 180 trillion

The taxpayers repatriation funds on tax amnesty program is predicted to reach only IDR 180 trillion or 18% from government projection of IDR 1.000 trillion. Bank Indonesia predicts according to the realization of tax amnesty until the last few years.

Agus D Martowardojo, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, said that the additional capital inflow from repatriation reached IDR 180 trillion in December 2016. Meanwhile, the ransom tax is expected to reach IDR 21 trillion or 12.7% from government’s target of IDR 165 trillion. This projection could possibly be realized higher, since the projection is conservative.

Sri Mulyani, Minister of Finance, mentioned that the government will pursue the corporate tax compliance with turnover above IDR 5 billion or cutting the ministries or non-priority institutions expenditure funds if the tax amnesty target missed.

Bahana Securities said the taxpayer participation on tax amnesty will keep increasing. It is proved by the asset declaration that reaches to IDR 307 trillion per 8th September 2016. The repatriation fund reaches with a value of IDR 15.1 trillion and the ransom fund reaches IDR 6.92 trillion or by 4.2% from government’s target.

Bahana Securities predicts that the tax revenue including from tax amnesty in budget 2016 (APBN-P 2016) will reach IDR 1.105 trillion, which is lower than the target of IDR 1.320 trillion. (*)
