PT Pelayaran Tempuran Emas Tbk (TMAS) on June 1 signed contracts to build two container ships with a Chinese shipyard worth USD 98.9 billion. Each ship has a capacity of 360 TEUs and will therefore increase the company’s business capacity and boost the company’s revenue in 2017.
The Corporate Secretary Tempuran Gold, Marthalia Vigita, said in his letter to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) that the purchase of these vessels is financed using the proceeds of this year’s capital expenditure of Rp 550 billion. The two ships will be handed over in the first quarter of 2017.
The company’s data show that as of the first quarter of 2016, the company’s fleet of 170 vessels has a total capacity of 15,519 TEUs. The total capacity of the company after the two vessels are completed will reach 16,239 TEUs.
Tempuran Emas is targeting a revenue growth of 12.5% in 2016, compared with revenue performance in 2015, amounting to Rp 1.8 trillion. Assuming revenue CAGR of 6.09% in the last three years, the company’s revenue in 2017 is estimated to reach Rp 2 trillion. (*)
